"alfi" is born
1914
Carl Zitzmann, together with his wife and 10 employees, founded "alfi" in Fischbach from an old oil mill on the edge of the Feld river and began producing insulated containers.
1918
The product range is expanded to include aluminum tableware. Thanks to rapid growth, the company now has 75 employees.
alfi becomes AWF
1948
The alfi is converted into a "people's company" and the Zitzmann family is expropriated. The new name is now AWF (Aluminumwarenfabrik Fischbach)

The AWF uses the extrusion technology. The product range is expanded to include aluminum bottles and casings for the glass industry. The aluminum tableware production is modernized by mechanical extrusion.
A New Beginning
1990 / 1992
With the fall of the Berlin Wall, BAF Fischbacher Haushaltswaren GmbH was founded. The market was reopened with a new look for its products.
1992 / The trust business is transferred into private hands. BAF becomes known on the market with a new sales concept.

A new flame spraying process for the application of induction coatings is used at Baf

2014
The Fischbach Rhön site is celebrating 100 years. This was taken as an opportunity to redesign the hall façade. The 100-year history was presented in the form of graffiti on over 300m2.
25 years of BAF
2020
Company anniversary 25 years of BAF under the leadership of Michael Präßler.
Largest investment in 15 years:
New continuous hardening furnace with a length of 19 m.
Patented cold gas process
2021
The Gigant Newline series is now coated in an induction-capable manner using the patented cold gas process. BAF is the only manufacturer that can use this process. This means that the previous black base is no longer needed and is replaced by a chrome-colored one.
Hidden Champions
2023
We are proud to announce that we have been named Hidden Champion in Thuringia! With our patented cold gas coating process for aluminum and copper cookware, we are not only the world market leader, but also the technology leader.
